Questions? I've got answers.
Everything you need to know about working with me. Can't find what you're looking for? Just ask.
Working with me
How does the process work?
It starts with a relaxed chat — no commitment, no jargon. We talk about your business, what you need and what you want to achieve. From there I put together a quote. Once you're happy and the deposit is paid, I get to work. You'll see the site before it goes live and have the chance to request changes. Then we launch.
Do I have to be local to Norfolk?
Not at all. I work with businesses all across the UK. Everything is handled remotely — calls, emails, screen shares. Being in Norfolk is just where I'm based.
Will I be dealing with you directly, or will my project get passed to someone else?
You deal with me — Kerry — from start to finish. There's no team, no account manager, no handoffs. Just me.
How do we communicate during the project?
However works best for you — email is my default, but I'm happy to jump on a call or video chat if that's easier. I'll keep you updated at every stage and won't go quiet for weeks at a time.
Can you work with my existing website?
It depends on what you need. Small tweaks to an existing site are usually better handled as ad-hoc support, but if your site is slow, outdated or stuck on a platform you've outgrown, a fresh build is often the better long-term answer. Either way, get in touch and I'll give you an honest take.
What do I need to provide to get started?
Not much to begin with — a sense of what you want your site to do and who it's for is enough for our first chat. Once you've agreed to go ahead, I'll ask for your logo (if you have one), the text you'd like on each page, and any photos you want to use. I'll give you a clear checklist so you know exactly what I need and when.
The build
How long does it take to build a website?
A typical project takes 2–4 weeks from deposit to launch. The main factor is how quickly content (text and images) is provided and how quickly you can give feedback. I'll always give you a realistic timeline upfront.
Do I need to provide my own content and photos?
Yes — you know your business better than anyone, so the words and images should come from you. I'll tell you exactly what I need and when. If you need help with copy or photography I can point you in the right direction, but that sits outside the build itself.
What if I don't like the design?
I'll keep refining until you're happy — that's the whole point. I also spend time at the start understanding your brand, your preferences and what you like so we're aligned before I build anything. In my experience, surprises are rare.
Will my website work on mobile?
Yes, always. Every site I build is mobile-first — meaning I design for small screens first, then scale up. Most of your visitors will be on their phone, so this isn't optional.
Will my website show up on Google?
Every site I build has local SEO built in from the start — proper page titles, meta descriptions, fast loading speeds, structured data and a sitemap submitted to Google. I can't guarantee specific rankings (nobody honestly can), but your site will be set up correctly and give you the best possible foundation.
Pricing & payments
How much does a website cost?
Build packages start from £299 for up to 3 pages, £599 for up to 6 pages, and £899 for up to 10 pages. After launch, the optional care plan is £20/month for all packages, billed annually by invoice. There are no hidden costs — everything is quoted upfront. See the full pricing breakdown.
How do payments work?
A 50% deposit is required before work begins. The remaining 50% is due before the site goes live. Payment is by bank transfer — invoices are issued at each stage.
Do I have to take the care plan?
No — it's optional. Either way, all updates are handled by me. The care plan just makes it simpler: a flat annual fee covers routine updates so you're never counting hours. It's £20/month for all packages, billed as one invoice per year — no direct debit, no monthly payments.
If you'd rather not commit, you can request changes as and when you need them at £40/hour. Same service, different billing.
What does the care plan include?
The care plan covers hosting management, reasonable content updates (text changes, image swaps), support via email, and an annual SEO health check. It's £20/month for all packages, billed annually by invoice (one payment per year). Work that falls outside this — new pages, new features, redesigns — is quoted separately or charged at £40/hour.
Ownership & after launch
Do I own my website?
Yes, completely. Once the final payment is made, the site is yours outright. You're not renting it from a platform — you own the design, the code, everything. You can take it elsewhere any time you choose.
Can I update the website myself?
You don't need to — that's the whole point. Just send me an email with what you need changing and I'll take care of it, usually within a day or two. No logging in, no figuring anything out, no stress.
The sites I build are custom coded, which is part of what makes them fast and clean. All changes go through me, whether you're on a care plan or just need the occasional update.
What happens if I want to cancel the care plan?
You can cancel with 30 days' notice at any time. Your site, your files and your hosting account are yours to keep — I'll help you move to alternative hosting if you need it. No penalties, no awkwardness.
Can I add more pages later?
Absolutely. Additional pages are quoted separately once the original build is complete, and added at my standard rate. Many clients start small and grow their site over time.
